The Inspiration of Bukeka
The name "Bukeka" is from the Zulu language spoken in South Africa. It means "adorned" or "beautiful". Bukeka chose this name at 6 years old.
On November 6th 2011, Bukeka will sing and inspire children and young adults in and around Cape Town, South Africa. Many have lost their parents due to HIV/AIDS. At a concert being held on 11/11/11 at the Novalis Ubuntu Institute in Cape Town, Bukeka will sing one of her most inspiring original songs entitled “I’ll Light a Candle in Your Name” with the Fezeka Youth Choir.
During apartheid Africans were excluded from education in the arts and natural sciences. The school where the choir rehearses is quite wonderful even if it looks like a prison! Bukeka will also be performing songs in Zulu a traditional South African language taught to her by her mother when she was a little girl.
You can be an important part of this amazing work with your financial support that is so appreciated, as Bukeka works with Lovelight to be a voice for peace in our world!
